Collaboration

I’ve come from a retreat with Appreciation Financial’s Women of Wealth.  We explored our purpose, our why and how together we can do much more together.  It was a powerful week.

Collaboration is a word I’ve embraced for decades.  It aligns with synergy, partnership, teamwork and allows us to go beyond what is possible when we fly solo.

In the dictionary, it is defined as “the action of working with someone to produce or create something”.   Trusted partnerships can expand the scope of success!  Think about it – can you think of a time when working with someone has led to a creation beyond what you may have envisioned on your own?

As we go through life, there are times when it feels easier to “just do it myself”.  There are also times when we reach out and ask for help, or bring together people to explore different perspectives when facing a situation.  Times when we are assuming new work responsibilities, or trying a new health regime may lead us to choosing to “go solo” or go beyond to include others.

Today, let’s consider incorporating collaboration into working on something:

  1. Set expectations of detailed divisions of tasks and deadlines
  2. Outline areas of expertise brought by the people involved
  3. Build community and reach out to those who align with your goal
  4. Ongoing communication between those who are working together help you check progress and stay on track
  5. Celebrate everything along the way – success, “ah ha’s”, progress!  Paying attention to what is working keeps up motivation

Explore how powerful “We” can be.  Expand your net beyond what you know on your own.  Seeking partners, establishing guidelines and executing together in collaboration can lead to extraordinary results with projects big and small.  Give it a try 🙂

If you’d like some help taking a look at your readiness for anything at home and work we’re happy to collaborate with you!  We proactively help you assess your situation in business and home and explore ways for you to protect what is important to you by asking questions.  What is your risk? Your plan?  Are you ready to be ready?   Think of it as stress reduction through planning 🙂
