We all have 24 hours in each day, correct? Ah, some days it feels like more or less! Linking productivity with time opens up a perspective that allows us to consider the quality of our actions, vs. the quantity.
Today, it is my pleasure to introduce a woman I respect to be featured on the Advisory Perspective Series this month.
Barb Hubbard is a Time Management Coach and ADHD Specialist with a Master’s degree in Education and life coach certification from the ADD Coach Academy. Barb has spent over twenty-five years working with and supporting individuals with learning and attention issues. She sees the strengths and possibility in others and guides them to discover it in themselves.
After many years of teaching children and supporting parents, Barb began to notice that distractibility, forgetfulness and disorganization weren’t limited to the classroom. Adults were asking for support after discovering that they too had ADHD. Friends were finding it difficult to launch and grow their businesses in our fast paced, distracting society. So, in 2017 Barb launched her coaching business to support these ambitious people.
Barb enjoys working with high energy, motivated individuals. Together they create and implement strategies to support focus and productivity. She has a special talent for looking at a huge project or goal task and breaking it down into small attainable steps. She helps you prioritize and holds you accountable as you make progress. She is well-versed in the challenges of time management, organization and productivity. Find peace in the chaos; be productive, not just busy! Welcome Barb!
Question 1. What do you enjoy about working with your clients?
There comes a point in most coaching conversations when they say, “aha!” and they’ve had a new thought or insight about themselves or their situation. I especially love it when that insight is accompanied by some newfound confidence.
Question 2. How would you suggest a potential new client prepare for a 1st meeting?
Most people seek out a coach when they have a topic they’d like to learn more about or a situation/task/project that they would like help with to accomplish. They only need to bring the topic and an open mind to a first meeting. From there, it’s my job to ask questions or share information to clarify the situation and support the client in moving toward an action plan.
Question 3. When someone agrees to become a client, what can they expect immediately? Over time?
They can expect my undivided attention and a block of time completely devoted to processing through their thoughts around a situation. Over time, they can expect to develop confidence in themselves.
Question 4. What is your service philosophy?
Every client is different and I strive to meet each individual exactly where they are at. My approach is very individualized so that I can support you in your success.
Question 5. What resources do you provide to assist “laypeople” with understanding what is being discussed?
I love to educate people about ADHD, which can be a tricky thing to discuss. I often use visuals, story-telling and examples from my own life to help people understand what it is all about.
Bonus Question! If you were to relay one piece of advice to anyone reading this, what would it be?
You already have everything within yourself to be successful. Sometimes you just need someone else to help you dig deep and discover your strengths. “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think” – A. A. Milne
