What comes to mind when you hear the phrase “peaceful home”? This was a question posed to me by Deb Porter recently. The picture with tea, fruit, biscuits, and flowers above helps me say ahhhh!

Summer Thoughts

Summertime is a time of longer days and longer days mean more time to Live, Work, Play, and Plan! Rather than an “either/or” choice, I’m a fan of “and”, and this summer as I embrace all four of those words!

Information sharing via video or live classes is something I’ve been playing around with to learn! It’s important that I keep things real and personal and be respectful of your time.

As I create short informational videos to explain what information to document and why it’s important, I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, think about ways you can expect the unexpected in your life at work.

I’d love to hear from you with what would and could help you expect the unexpected 🌞 Pop me anEmail: Lynn@thelivingplanner.com or leave me a message at +1951.400.5966.

A Salute to Dad’s Today

The old Farmers Almanac reported that the first known Father’s Day service occurred in Fairmont, West Virginia, on July 5, 1908, after hundreds of men died in the worst mining accident in U.S. history. Grace Golden Clayton, the daughter of a dedicated minister, proposed a service to honor all fathers, especially those who had died.

Yet, Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, is usually credited for originating Father’s Day. She is said to have had the idea in 1909 while listening to a sermon on Mother’s Day, which was emerging as a holiday.

It took quite some time for Father’s Day to become a National Holiday in the US. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day. Six years later, the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.

For those who are dads or fortunate to have a dad or a dad-like figure today, Happy Father’s Day!
