The phrase “circular logic” popped into my head this week. Circular reasoning (Latin: circulus in probando, “circle in proving”; also known as circular logic) is a logical fallacy in which the reasoner begins with what they are trying to end with. The components of a circular argument are often logically valid because if the premises are true, the conclusion must be true.
Ask yourself about what you are trying to end with (i.e. If, Then) and you’ll identify the circular logic running behind the scenes! Often, my blog posts provide practical topics to help inform you about life’s administrative issues.
As we approach the last three months of 2019, it’s a good idea to explore the possibility that we may approach topics, issues or projects with an “expected outcome”, hence why I am posting about circular logic!
If we think something seems too big, costs too much, will take too much time, isn’t necessary or just plain distasteful, we find all the reasons whatever we think is “true” according to circular logic. Somehow, someway what we think becomes “true” according to the logic we have already established.
How do we catch ourselves when we are operating from what’s running behind the scenes? Questions such as “is it true”? “what do I wish to achieve?” “why is achieving an outcome” are important to ask as we seek to implement anything in life.
Have some fun as Q4 begins Tuesday. Ideas, plans, strategy, success are achievable! Notice when circular logic seems to be running behind the scenes and use it as an opportunity to craft your end result toward a positive result.
If you’d like an outside perspective when crafting your desired end results, let’s talk! My work includes: for individuals and families products and services offered include The Living Planner© print book USD $23.95 plus tax/shipping, covering Pre-Planning; At a Loss; and On-going follow-up topics designed to get you into action. The Wellbeing Check-up USD $199, is an individualized session with me to explore personal/family readiness and gaps in planning to prepare people to meet with accounting, tax, financial, legal, medical and end of life planning professionals.

Are you ready to take this on? Do you know any organizations/businesses concerned with continuity for their employees/customers/vendors. I’d like to talk about taking on those “life and work issues” with diligence and have some fun along the way. Awareness of what’s at stake and what’s to gain is a powerful tool for all of us!
