Fears

Providing workshops throughout communities, I’ve learned how often we are ill-prepared for any disruption from our “normal” day to day lives.  This has been a year filled with natural disasters, of random shootings, accident, illness and other disruptions.

Keeping our sights on outcomes we can impact and on the many positive aspects of our lives reduces stress and maintains equilibrium as we juggle various components of daily life.   “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” – Nelson Mandela

USA Today featured an article that caught my eye this week.  They posted a recap of a survey Chapman University conducted for the third straight year assessing American Fears across a variety of topics.  Creating awareness for ourselves about issues of interest/concern can provide the impetus to take action.  A recap of this survey gives “food for thought” for today – happy reading!
