As we wrap up the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, giving thanks has dominated the week. Gathering with family and friends; sharing food, stories and time together begins the kickoff of the holiday season.
Have you ever considered the impact others have had in your life and the impact you have had in the lives of others? This week I learned a 96 year old beautiful woman I considered a 2nd mom transitioned. Reflecting about her life, the impact she had on my life lives on as an inspiration. So many things stand out, as she made life special and made me feel special. How does one make an impact in the life of another?
Character
Character is how someone thinks, feels and behaves. How we elect to respond to situations is a choice. Consistency in how we think and speak includes our values, purpose and way we view the world. We impact others by how we show up.
Be an Example
How we seek to participate in life; how we choose to see people, events; how we strive to better ourselves and contribute all can impact others.
Focus on what Matters
Do you tend to find the good? Are you constantly seeking new information to expand your mind? Do you make time to contribute to others/your community? What information do you “feed” yourself? Do you enrich yourself? Others?
Remember to Smile
A smile goes a long way! Acknowledging others with a smile is a sure fire way to spread joy!
Listen
We were given two ears and one mouth for a reason! Paying attention through active listening is showing others what they have to say matters.
Use your Voice
Finding creative ways to guide, educate and model for others involves sharing your life experience can be a gift to others.
Display Kindness
Kindness shows support, respect and consideration of others. Recently PBS featured the CEO of Kind Bars, Daniel Lubetzky on a “Brief but Spectacular” feature. If you haven’t seen it: PBS Brief but Spectacular
Be an Inspiration
How do you make others feel? Inspiration comes from many sources. One that is constant is how someone makes you feel. When your world is better after interacting with someone – that is a good day!
Whether you are at work or at home, consider the impact you make upon others. You are making an impact in big and small ways each day.
Are you ready for interruptions in life? We proactively help you assess your situation in business and home and explore ways for you to protect what is important to you by asking questions. What is your risk? Your plan? Are you ready to be ready? Think of it as stress reduction through planning 🙂
