Interconnectedness

Interconnectedness is defined as “the state of being connected with each other”. What if we looked at all the “things” we do in life being interconnected? Let’s look from a practical perspective.

Life Stages

Big things and small all add up in life. How do we go about protecting ourselves is a question I am asked frequently. What you’ve learned over time and are willing to learn will guide you moving forward.

Life stages come into play. When you’re a young adult and starting out on your own, there is a natural tendency to rely upon your home environment and school environment as your teachers.

As you get out into the world and have new experiences, your world begins to broaden. The business of life takes hold.

Decisions about work, money, bills, insurance, legal matters and living on your own take hold. These issues continue throughout life.

Building a foundation as you start out is important! Yes, you’ll encounter new information, new technologies, new choices, yet having a strong foundation to build upon helps you as you continue the journey through life.

Your Team

Selecting people to help you navigate daily life and especially the decisions about work, money, bills, insurance, legal matters and living on your own are important decisions. If you’re not familiar with the subject matter puts you in a tough spot. How do you go about this?

Referrals and researching potential team members are ways to select your team. Seek credible sources as your referrals and researching.

Knowing what to ask and who to ask can be confusing. Keeping up with industry trends, best practices and resources can seem like a full time job!

Think about buying planning a vacation! It’s fun, you want to have a great time. You research ways to get there, where to stay, what to do, etc. This same diligence can be applied to people, policies and programs offered about subjects of interest to you!

Professionals on your team can make life better or worse, depending upon the people you select and the services they provide. Choose cautiously and wisely – know before you go forward is a lesson I’ve learned over the years that may serve you well.

Design Your Life

As you proceed through the life stages, review decisions made and ask, “what do I want/need now”? From 18-98, our wants, needs change, as does your day-to-day life!

Making time to envision day-to-day life stages and transitions as a “long-term plan” can play a vital role in the decisions you make in life. Business and personal continuity, contingency, and step-in planning is the core of what I do.
