Life and Business Protection Planning

I’m often asked what is it that I do? When I started The Living Planner, I wanted to test a theory. 60% of Americans do not have a will/trust or advanced health care directives. Business owners and departmental leadership rarely have considered or executed plans in case of disruption of the business or the loss of key employees.

My theory was that IF people could understand what’s at risk and undertake simple strategies to prepare for the “what if’s”, this preparation would help us while living and could minimize loss and allow all to resume life and business after experiencing loss.

Clients have given me tremendous insight. We’re busy people. We have to do lists that go on and on. We work “in” our businesses vs. “on” them. We divide our tasks at home to “help us”.

IF we intellectually understand the importance, our emotional readiness lags behind. We tend to react to the “fire of the moment” vs. make time in advance of “needing something”. We prefer someone else “handle it”. And, when we address the importance of life, of these decisions, these plans we feel immense satisfaction and relief! That is a great benefit of my work 🙂

The magnitude of life and business administrative responsibilities is daunting. Navigating the moving pieces impacting us is complex, confusing and something we prefer to avoid. The variety of professionals required to complete the process costs time and involves a financial commitment.

I ask, how does avoiding something make you stronger? Does inaction protect you in any way? What is the cost of not taking advanced action?

Transitions throughout Life

Transitions occur throughout our lifetime. From birth to death, we have many stops in between. This applies to people and companies. As we transition from summer to autumn, it is a great time to consider a check-up for you, your loved ones and at work.

As for what I do, I consult, I’m an author, I’m an advocate and a cheerleader. I’ve worked in the reactive space for so long that it was time to take the proactive message out to the public. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” – Benjamin Franklin was a wise man!

For Young Adults The GenZ Life Hacks Summit provided a look back for young adults to move forward. Follow-up online sessions for Young Adults and Young Professionals covers 1. Health Decisions to Make and Actions to Take; 2. Financial Information to Get You Started and 3. Online/Data – Protect Yourself.  Contact me directly for details

Are you ready to take this on? Do you know any organizations/businesses concerned with continuity for their employees/customers/vendors. I’d like to talk about taking on those “life and work issues” with diligence and have some fun along the way. Awareness of what’s at stake and what’s to gain is a powerful tool for all of us!
