Funny how it goes with progress. We get in the groove, build momentum and something stops us from making more progress. Sometimes it’s a dip, sometimes it’s an outside influence, or maybe it’s something inside of us that causes doubt or confusion.

- If you have been procrastinating on your goals
- If you don’t ever feel like doing anything
- If you keep turning to sleep, eating, games, mindless activities and entertainment for comfort
- If you know you should be doing something, but yet you keep avoiding it
- If you have not achieved anything new or significant now relative to 1 month, 2 months or 3 months ago
- If you have a deep sense of feeling that you are living under your potential
Pandemic life has impacted all of us. Go easy on yourself and take some time away from your plans and goals. Is your routine dragging you down? Feeling as if your constantly handling the obligatory is hard on us.
So, are you ready to reset? Here are some suggestions to consider.
Ways to plan for progress
- Think big in one area of your life
- What is it you’d like to achieve – establish the end goal
- Ask yourself why it means something to you
- What is the timeline you envision completing it?
- Separate out what needs to be done and highlight areas that “go together” to consolidate time/effort
- Keep track of all progress made
- Seek support when needed – get your “ask” out there!
How do you know when you’re making progress?
- It becomes a habit to pursue daily activities in support of your overall game plan
- You’re open to feedback and make tweaks along the way
- Obstacles are seen as pauses that propel you forward
- Seeing progress from where you started re-fuels you and reminds you that you can do it
- You can see the end goal and it still fires you up
- People and resources are accessible at just the right time
- You’re having fun!
Love the “SLOW” reminder in the quote above! Take a minute to recognize that slow progress is progress. Progress is rarely linear 🙂
