Pictures, we capture beautiful moments in time. They are on our smartphones and sometimes we still use a camera. Technology has given us the ability to snap with ease, yet we receive the “storage full – manage our settings” notification. Where in the world do we store these captured memories?
Today, I’d like to introduce you to a woman I’ve met who provides answers for us in this special Advisory Perspective Series!
Karen Fitting is an award-winning trainer teaching software products and photo management. She helps her customers with “all things photos” and enjoys listening to the stories that go with the pictures.
Using technology comes easy to Karen and thanks to live video chat, internet voice calls and blogging, she can reach people around the world. She thrives in helping solve the photo challenges of her customers. With a variety of ideas and resources, there’s hardly a photo-problem that goes unsolved. In 2018, Karen added travel planning to her portfolio.
Karen lives in Northern California [Fremont]. She is an active alumnae member of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, current Vice President of Pathfinder Chapter of ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) and a
member of Polka Dot Powerhouse. Her hobbies include reading, camping, wine tasting, traveling and, of course, scrapbooking.
Welcome Karen!
Question 1. What do you enjoy about working with your clients? First
and foremost, I love hearing their stories. I think that storytelling is becoming lost with the fast pace of our technology driven lives. If I can help families keep those stories and memories alive, everyone is
happier.
Question 2. How would you suggest a potential new client prepare for a 1st meeting? This really depends on the purpose of our first meeting. Often it’s a one to one conversation to figure out the photo problems we’re trying to solve. From there, we talk about next steps and actions that work best for that person/family.
Question 3. When someone agrees to become a client, what can they expect immediately? Over time? The primary expectation is that I am now their partner for memory saving and that I’m easily available to answer their questions.
Question 4. What is your service philosophy? “How can I help you?” I am in service to my clients and want to help them in the way THEY want/need the help. A client recently told me that I make it easy and that’s what I want to keep doing.
Question 5. What resources do you provide to assist “laypeople” with understanding what is being discussed? Me! I find that I have a knack of making complex concepts easy to understand. I think that comes from the teacher in me and how I like to make this easy. Family memories are emotional and having someone like me who isn’t emotionally invested, yet listens and understands, is what I bring to them.
Bonus Question! If you were to relay one piece of advice to anyone reading this, what would it be? Everyone’s memories are important. They tell the stories of our lives and are worth saving in a safe manner that will last generations.
The holiday season is upon us. Capturing memories is a part of this season. Karen helps us preserve these memories using technology for storage. The bonus from my perspective is that we may also upload important family documents we may want / need to access!
I’m here as a second set of eyes for life planning, business contingency planning, taking care of your employees navigating with life and business intersect, deciphering crazy legalese, US citizens preparing to live abroad and for we adult children helping our parents / grandparents transition.
Talking about the situations in life we would prefer to avoid isn’t always easy, yet so darned valuable when the time occurs.
