This is a week of appreciation for teachers, nurses, and on May 10th, it’s Mother’s Day in the US! For all who teach, nurse, and mother us, we celebrate you and all you do.

Thank You Teachers
Teacher Appreciation Week is a reminder that teachers care deeply about their students’ happiness, overall growth, and learning. While academic success is important, teachers also focus on kindness, responsibility, and personal development.
Teachers see students in a broader context, observing how they interact, grow, and build life skills. At the same time, habits formed at home, like regular reading, consistent attendance, and fostering independence, are essential pieces of the puzzle. These everyday efforts help children build confidence and take ownership of their learning.
The ripple effect of a great teacher extends far beyond the classroom — into careers chosen, books loved, and the lives they touch. A single moment of encouragement from a teacher can echo through a lifetime.

Angels on Earth
The theme for Nurses’ Appreciation this year is “The Power of Nurses”. Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system and I’ve always thought of them as angels on earth.
From the bedside to the battlefield, research labs to rural clinics, classrooms to boardrooms, nurses shape the future of healthcare by making a lasting impact on the lives of their patients, families, and communities. Their presence brings comfort in times of distress, their knowledge ensures safety in critical moments, and their clinical expertise fosters healing. Whether in times of crisis or in everyday care, nurses exemplify unwavering commitment and leadership on behalf of the patients they serve.
This year’s theme, ‘The Power of Nurses,’ couldn’t ring truer. Nurses don’t just treat conditions — they see the whole person. They hold hands in the hardest moments, advocate fiercely for their patients, and show up every single shift with heart and skill in equal measure. That’s not just a job. That’s a calling.

Moms
Last, and not least, are mothers. Sunday is a day honoring Moms, Stepmoms, Mothers-in-Law, those who those who feel like a mom.
Whether they carried us, chose us, raised us, or simply showed up when we needed them most, mothers come in many forms — and every one of them matters. Motherhood is patient, persistent, and profoundly powerful.
It’s the quiet sacrifices made before sunrise, the cheerleading that never stops, and the love that asks for nothing in return. This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all the women who pour themselves into others — and remind them: you are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply appreciated.
Thanks to You
Appreciation shout-out to all of you today! I made a pact with myself when I started The Living Planner that I would write weekly. When you reach out to let me know what you think, what you’d like to see, to ask questions, and to provide feedback, you make my day!
Planning what you’d like to design for your life today and moving forward is important for everyone. Attending the Network & Navigate Virtual Summit this week, which I featured last week, was informational and rewarding. The presenters opened my eyes to ways to prepare financially, protect against fraud, and prepare for aging that will help me moving forward.
If you’d ever like to talk about your planning moving forward, click on Book a Time with Lynn for a complimentary 30-minute Zoom with me. OR, send me a note via Email. Check out what I offer @ The Living Planner.
For you pre-planners, my book is a resource you might enjoy. The 2026 edition of Living Planner What to Prepare Now While You Are Living © has been printed! Check it out HERE.
