Hit the Reset Button

As the summer draws to an end and we approach Q4, it is a perfect time to take stock in life and work to assess if it is time to hit the reset button! How are things going for you?

Amidst busy schedules we often rely on “auto pilot” to propel us through the day. Deep down, we may have little “niggles” encouraging us to move beyond where we’ve been. Looking at the big picture of our routines, our enthusiasm levels and our results personally and professionally, there may be areas to tweak before the year gets away from us.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics incorporates the “basics” into their time use statistics. How about we look a bit deeper …

  1. Physical health – how are you feeling? Are you eating well? Exercising?
  2. Financial health – are you on track with your earning, spending and investing goals?
  3. Occupational – how are things going at work?
  4. Social / Recreational – are you connecting? Are you incorporating fun downtime activities into your lives?
  5. Mental/Spiritual – what are you doing to nourish and maintain a positive attitude?
  6. Environmental – are your home and work environments safe and comfortable?

All day, everyday we make choices. Blending the competing factors of any given day can be a challenge. Sometimes we need to slow down to speed up! Yes, sounds counter-intuitive. The slowing down brings into focus the big picture. What’s working? What’s not? Which areas of life could benefit from a tweak?

Go enjoy the rest of summer! Before you know it, we’ll be saying hello to 2020! This is a great time to take stock in us. And, if needed, hit the reset button to build our momentum moving ahead.

Q4 is coming! What a perfect time to consult and establish action plans, for you personally and for your organization. Let’s talk! We’ll tackle those “life and work issues” with diligence and some fun along the way. Awareness of what’s at stake and what’s to gain is a powerful tool.
