Have had some interesting conversations of late about life. Being a proponent of living life, it is a conscious decision to reflect upon the gazillion little things that comprise it. Why is it that it seems those pesky little things become most important in times of crisis? Why not every day?
What if we learned easy and fun ways to plan and organize from the time we were in school? If we recorded information about our games, our toys, our friends? Would this make a difference?
After speaking recently to a teenager, I stood still for a long while. She thanked me for doing what I do because she wished her parents would have met me before one died suddenly, leaving them all scared and uncertain how to proceed.
At that moment, I wondered, what if … what if we did somehow begin instilling easy ways of the importance of planning and reviewing important day to day stuff when we were young? Would this make a difference in how people perceive it? Could feelings of empowerment, freedom and peace of mind ever “win” over avoidance?
Time is a precious resource for all of us. We can feel protective of time; juggling between home, office, extra-curricular activities, fun, rest. Investment of time is something to consider in any/all activities. Dedicating time to preventative action falls pretty low on the list of daily activities. Pretty scary when going to the dentist sounds more fun than locating information and files, isn’t it?!
What do you think? Hearing your thoughts about planning, organizing, time and LIVING LIFE matters to me. What is it that empowers you? Stops you? Would love to hear your thoughts.
As a friend of mine asked in all seriousness, “What does we only live once really mean? We live day after day, and that seems to be more than once to me.” BAM!
Let’s make this one a good one! Thanks for being a part of the community.
